What is Female Urology?
Many women go to the urologist sometime in their life and the main causes are: incontinencia urinaria, fístulas, infecciones y litiasis (piedras) en las vías urinarias. Diseases

Urinary incontinence
Urinary incontinence is the involuntary leakage of urine through the urethra. There are several types of urinary incontinence. Treatment depends on the type of incontinence.

Urinary fistulas
A fistula is the communication between two organs, the most common causes are diverticular disease, a history of hysterectomy, prolonged labor, among other causes. Fistulas require surgical treatment, which can be done laparoscopically.

Urinary tract infections
Urinary tract infections are a very frequent cause of consultation in urology, men and women can suffer them at some point in life. The most common complaints are burning when urinating, pain in the lower abdomen, and a desire to urinate frequently.

Kidney stones
Kidney and ureteral stones are a frequent reason for consultation for urologists and emergency physicians, since they generate very annoying symptoms such as severe pain, hematuria (blood in the urine) and urinary infections. Women and men can get kidney stones.
